CWShredder is a small program that removes the nasty spyware program called "CoolWWWebSearch". It and it's variants are responsible for a huge amount of the spyware problems that computer have. It is one of the nastiest varmints that can infect your computer. CWShredder is the only program I know of that will effectively remove this varmint from your computer.

CWShredder can be found here. And while you are there, be sure to read the "CoolWebSearch Chronicles". This is a huge read (20 pages), but it goes into detail about all the variants, how they infect your computer and how they are removed. It is an excellent read for those trying to understand the mechanics of this spyware.

As far as using CWShredder, after downloading the program, double click on the file to run the program. When it oopens, it will give you the option to update the program. If you are still connected to the Internet, go ahead and update the program. After it checks for updates, click on the "Fix" button. CWShredder will scan your system and fix any CoolWebSearch problems it finds. Close the program and you are done.

When cleaning a system, this is one of the first programs I will run.
